Nürnberg, September 2011: Visit us at the 2011 JTCA symposium in Kyoto (Japan) from October 5 to 7. Within the TC World program at JTCA, Acolada will give two presentations on how to bridge the gap between Word and XML and about using InDesign in the XML based technical documentation.

For the first time tekom and TC World will take part in JTCA and will offer a track with 12 presentations.

- October 5, 11.30-12.30: Using InDesign with content management in the technical documentation.
InDesign is mostly seen as a tool for graphical designers and marketing professionals. However InDesign can do much more. It allows to be integrated in standard XML workflows with content management systems, and it allows not only to be used as a typesetting system but as a fully integrated tool in the editing, layouting and proofing process.
The presentation shows use cases of multilingual documentation with Sirius CMS and InDesign. It explains in detail how to integrate InDesign with content management and how to bring together XML with the full layouting potential of InDesign. - October 7, 11.30-12.30: Bridging the gap: from Word to XML
In the technical communication XML is the preferred format to set up streamlined and modularized documentation processes and flexible document production. However many authors still use word processors so that document conversion is a recurrent issue.
What if the tool to use would look like and feel like a word processor but produce valid XML? The JTCA is the first trade show to present Acolada´s new XML tool that bridges the gap from Word to XML. The presentation will pick up examples from reference projects to demonstrate how to edit your XML content in a truely word-like environment.
